Dr. Fern White
Principal Dentist & Dental Surgeon – B.D.Sc. Honours (Melbourne University), FICCDE, Certificate Masters Implant surgery (UCLA), Registered yoga teacher (RYT-200)
Dr. Fern White believes in the power of transformation through connecting authentically with people. She regards herself to be in a privileged position to make a positive change in the lives of her patients.
Fern enjoys the spectacular variety in general dentistry and always embraces new advancements. Her particular interests are reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry (including implant surgery) and pain management. Fern believes strongly in Biomimetic Dentistry – conserving what mother nature has given us and enhancing health, function and aesthetics in line with nature.
Having additionally completed numerous international certifications in Orthodontics and Implant surgery (UCLA), Fern integrates her holistic philosophy into her practice where she helps all patients from young children to mature-aged adults obtain beautiful, harmonised smiles. She is always undergoing continuous studies to further enhance her knowledge and skills to be the best that she is able to be. She loves to be at the forefront of dentistry, finding more advanced, conservative ways to help her patients choose their best treatment option.
In 2006, Fern volunteered as a dentist in Vietnam as part of the Rotary Australia-Vietnam Dental Health Project – to provide primary and emergency dental care to children in Vietnam. In 2009, she participated in a dental outreach program in Cairns, working alongside the indigenous Aboriginal community. BCD is also a strong supporter of Asylum Seekers, in particular, women and children in crisis. She endeavours to continue taking part and leading the team in such volunteer health programs, where satisfaction is gained through ensuring that all groups in society experience the rewards of quality and caring dentistry.
Fern has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and South America and her fluency in English, French and Vietnamese has greatly enlightened her travels. To maintain health and wellbeing Fern enjoys canine companionship, music, singing and playing the guitar.
Apart from dentistry, Ferns other main passion in life is yoga – which she has practised and studied for more than 11 years. She has completed the 200-RYT with Yoga Alliance and is a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. She aims to align these skills to further connect to and nurture her patients.
Fern is passionate about continually integrating yoga philosophies into her daily interactions with people and bridging the gap between western medicine and eastern philosophy to create a fully balanced, body mind approach to dentistry.
